Experience BYS through Discovery
BYS Discovery
A thoughtful first experience of BYS for families. It complements school by making room for curiosity, reflection and the interests that may not appear in conventional records.
BYS Discovery is currently designed for learners aged 7–17. Parent requests still require BYS Admin review and approval.
BYS Discovery is currently offered without a subscription fee. No payment is required to request or use Discovery during this release.
Discovery is a choice, not a required first step before BYS Access or BYS Guided. Those separate learning paths are coming soon.
Admin approval confirms the Parent request and actual Discovery period before private learner features become available.
What your family can experience
My Learning Journey
A private learner portfolio that can grow over time through reflections, reading and meaningful experiences. Books and the Read & To Read list belong within this Journey; it is not a score or formal Evaluation.
BYS Shelf
Explore BYS-curated books, activity kits and board games, including resources chosen for an individual learner. The wider catalogue is for exploration, not shopping or compulsory purchase.
BYS Journals
Thoughtful reading for Parents and learners on a separate BYS publishing site. Journal links are not available yet; BYS will share them when the destinations are approved.
BYS Live Update brings short current information from BYS. It does not change your membership or learner records.
How Discovery begins
- Create a Parent or Guardian account and verify your email.
- Review the required notices, confirm your authority and request Discovery.
- BYS reviews the request and confirms an approved period. Your account and request alone do not start Discovery.
- Once the approved period begins, choose a linked learner to see their own profile, Journey and Shelf.
One Parent account can manage up to three linked learners in the current pilot. Each learner’s reflections, reading and curated resources stay separate. A temporary registration reference is not a permanent Learner Code.
Discovery requests will open after BYS approves its Privacy notice and Terms. No family details are being collected for Discovery here yet.
